Our client: Serving an area twice as large as Delaware and almost as big as Connecticut, our client is home-grown in Alaska, owned by its member-owners. This position oversees the capital program, ensuring resources, schedules and budgets are coordinated to meet organizational goals and objectives. Seamless project management of the PM team by the individual will ensure overall capital gain program goals are met successfully.

Would you like to:

• Manage, prepare and monitor annual budget and 5 year capital work plan
• Develop and maintain professional service, material and construction contract templates and direct and review preparation of contractual documentation
• Review and approve engineering, manufacturer and contractor submittals and specifications ensuring conformance requirements
• Ensure coordination with power control department for project schedules, outages, switching and clearance requirements
• Establish design criteria for associated capital projects
• Represent the organization on capital projects between utilities or other entities
• Ensure quality assurance in the work of all personnel associated with the department’s capital projects

Ideally you have:

• BSc in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering
• Seven years of progressive experience in the electric utility industry
• State of Alaska PE license, or ability to obtain within a year of hire
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Knowledge of IEEE, RUS, ANSI, NEC & NESC codes and standards

The door would open further with:

• Five years of experience managing capital projects/programs in the electric utility industry
• PMP certification
• Transmission, distribution or substation project management
• Estimating experience
