Our client: Strong advocates for older Alaskans in the MatSu region, they are seeking a dynamic self-starter to build the organization. This is an amazing opportunity to create systems and processes to support seniors in the Valley. This position will represent the client within and outside the MatSu region, while managing administrative and operational tasks required to build a highly effective non-profit organization.

Would you like to:
  • Establish, maintain and use key relationships to enhance the organizational mission
  • Represent the client at local, regional and state meetings
  • Through effective collaboration, expand resources, and use data to effectively advocate for stakeholder priorities
  • Develop and maintain strategic plan in collaboration with Board of Directors
  • Establish a partnership between the Board and Advisory Council; coordinate communication between the two parties
  • Coordinate regional outreach to maintain visibility throughout region
  • Recruit, develop and support a highly representative advisory board
  • Use information you have gathered from regional stakeholders to identify organizational priorities
  • Assist with Board meetings, ensuring Board has sufficient information to make informed decisions
  • Plan and manage annual budget
  • Engage in fundraising, identify, write and manage grants, develop other revenue opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Ideally you have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, Master’s degree preferred, related work experience may be substituted
  • Leadership experience (either leading or being a leader in) an organization
  • Positive professional reputation
  • Similar nonprofit experience, as well as experience with seniors/people with disabilities
  • Personal or professional Mat-Su Borough experience
  • A genuine interest in older adults, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collect and interpret data
  • Compassionate leadership skills
  • Strong effective advocacy skills
  • Spirit of collaboration and able to listen from a place of humility
